Dermal fillers can be used to help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, furrows, sagging skin, and other signs of aging. Dermal fillers can also be used to restore hyaluronic acid levels within your skin. These injections are used to hydrate, soften, and increase the volume of your skin.
How to Prep
Refrain from taking Ibuprofen or having drinks before your appointment. Alcohol and blood thinners could increase your chance of bruising.
How it Feels
You might feel a little pressure during the application process, as if someone is pressing on you with their finger. Afterward, your skin may feel tighter or fuller than it did before. That sensation is because the fillers are stretching your skin back into its previous position before volume loss or aging happened.
Good to know
Dermal fillers are meant to create a smoother or fuller appearance, or both. The effects of most FDA-approved dermal fillers are temporary because they are made from materials that the body eventually breaks down and absorbs.
